A Little Game of “Where Did I Go?”
One moment their reflection is there. The next, it’s hidden. And with one little movement, there they are again.
The Montessori Wooden Peekaboo Mirror turns a wonderfully simple game into an opportunity for discovery. Your baby can grasp the wooden knob, move the colourful cover and reveal the mirror underneath—again and again.
Designed for curious little hands, this Montessori-inspired baby toy encourages independent exploration without flashing lights, screens or distracting sounds. Just a simple action, an interesting result and that irresistible little face looking back at them.
Little Hands Learning Through Play
There’s plenty happening behind this seemingly simple game.
Reaching for the wooden knob and moving the cover gives your baby opportunities to practise grasping, hand-eye coordination and fine-motor movements, while hiding and revealing the reflection provides a playful introduction to cause and effect and object permanence.
The mirror adds another layer of discovery, inviting little ones to notice faces, expressions and movement as they explore their own reflection.
It’s purposeful play made beautifully simple—allowing your baby to explore, repeat and discover at their own pace.
Simple play. Meaningful discovery. Skills they can practise one little movement at a time.
Made for Those “Again!” Moments
Babies love repetition. Once they discover that moving the cover reveals a face underneath, don’t be surprised if they want to do it again... and again.
Cover the mirror. Find the mirror. Spot a familiar face. Make a funny expression together. Then give your little one the opportunity to explore independently.
The simple wooden Montessori-inspired design keeps the activity focused, while the peekaboo element encourages babies to return to their discovery.
It can also become a lovely little parent-and-baby activity. Sit together, hide the reflection, ask “Where’s baby?”, slide the cover away and enjoy the reaction.
Sometimes, the simplest toys leave the most room for discovery.
